I am Dr, Syed Rahil, an Emergency Physician. My qualifications are MBBS, MRCP, MSc, MRCEM, FRCEM. I am currently working in the beautiful city of Carlisle,  part of Lake district. 

I am very passionate about learning and sharing my knowledge. I have been working in the Emergency department for few years. Sometimes it feels like “run of the mill day “. This has given me the inspiration for  this blog website. I have decided to learn something new, how trivial it may be, on every day of my work in the emergency department.

Being an emergency physician could be “jack of all trades but master of none” situation. Even though it is impossible to know everything of every condition we come across in our clinical practice I decided to learn in depth of one or two conditions whenever I attend patients. The aim is to look critically at our clinical practice and asking question “what is the best evidence available to deal with that situation?”.

This blog website is the chronicle of my own learning, but I hope other emergency physicians would also find it useful. There is no structure to the blogs as it is just a record of my daily learning based on the patients or clinical situations that I come across in my clinical practice.
